Filled puff pastry rolls with various fillings

Delicious recipe for stuffed puff rolls with various fillings

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of puff pastry (from the refrigerated section)
  • Various fillings of your choice, e.g.:
    • Spinach and feta cheese
    • Tomato, mozzarella and basil
    • Peppers, onions and feta cheese
    • Broccoli and cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg (whisked, as ice cream spreads)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven according to the instructions on the puff pastry package.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured work surface and cut it into squares or rectangles, depending on which shape you prefer.
  3. Place a portion of your chosen filling on one half of each piece of dough. Be careful not to use too much filling so that the rolls can be sealed well.
  4. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and press the edges together with a fork to seal.
  5. Repeat this process for all puff pastry pieces and filling combinations.
  6. Place the filled puff pastry rolls on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  7. Brush the top of the rolls with the beaten egg to give them a nice golden color.
  8. Bake the rolls according to the instructions on the puff pastry package until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Allow the filled puff pastry rolls to cool slightly before serving.

Tips:

  • Experiment with different fillings to add variety. You can also use leftover cooked meat or vegetables.
  • Make sure to drain or cool the filling well before adding it to the puff pastry to prevent the dough from becoming too wet.
  • Serve the filled puff pastry rolls warm or at room temperature as a snack, appetizer or part of a buffet.
